Biography

' Renowned as part of the UK's musical  heritage, True Foxes are featured on O2's Music Mapper campaign. '

True Foxes, an acclaimed Folk/Americana cousin duo, are quickly gaining popularity in the South West and beyond.

Amie’s powerful vocals and soulful songwriting has been compared to the likes of Laura Marling and Brandi Carlile, performing on Acoustic Guitar. Together with Chloe’s ethereal harmonies and melodic bass lines, the duo’s storytelling and sisterly banter take the audience on an emotional journey.

If you're a fan of First Aid Kit and The Secret Sisters but with a touch of British influence, you'll definitely enjoy True Foxes.

Having performed over 700 shows (and counting) since forming in 2019, and following the release of their debut album ‘Howl’ in March 2024, the duo have been featured on numerous international radio stations, being named as Americana Album of the Month on The Country Mile Radio and UK Country Radio and have received glowing reviews from AmericanaUK, Rocking Magpie, and Fatea magazine, with a Nomination for UK Duo of the year 2024 from BCMA.

Travelling in their little white van, the duo has taken their music from the South West to major cities across England, Scotland, and Wales. They have graced the main stages at major UK festivals, sold out shows, completed multiple debut headline tours, and shared the stage with renowned folk bands and acts such as Sound of the Sirens, Steve Knightley,  Flats and Sharps, Daisy Chute, Willie and the Bandits, The Magpies,  Alex Hart, Mark Radcliffe, David Boardman and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Their performances have received rave reviews from prestigious venues like the Liverpool Philharmonic, The Royal Glasgow Concert Hall, and The Water Rats in London.

They entered 2023, with an EP, two singles, music videos, and more than 200 live shows under their belt and kicked off the year with a bang by being selected as "Highly Recommended Artists" after their showcase performance on The Danny Kyle stage at Celtic Connections.

They also had the privilege of supporting Show Of Hands - Steve Knightley shortly after which has grown into a fantastic working relationship since.

The duo's first ticketed shows sold out, marking a milestone in their career when they embarked on their debut headline tour across the UK.  On their return, they performed at over 30 festivals, including a packed house at Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Wychwood, Rock Oyster, Golowan, and Royal Cornwall Show.

Their talent was recognised by BBC Introducing, naming them the artist of the week across 8 BBC radio stations.

In 2024 the duo released their debut album which pushed them to new heights.  They then went on to demonstrate their musical range with their first international main stage performances at Costa Del Folk festival in Portugal, Cornwall folk Festival as well as full band performances at The British Country music Festival, Country Calling and Tunes in the Park (supporting Sophie Ellis-Bextor).

Entering 2025 with a sold out UK  headline tour in the spring,  Amie and Chloe took part in the Cornwall my Home challenge set by BBC Radio Cornwall, which has amassed over 340,000 views on facebook alone.

Then followed a summer packed full of main stage performances including Between the Trees, Paradhis, Tunes in the Dunes, OceanFest and Sidmouth Folk Festival.

This autumn, True Foxes will be  joining forces with folk legend Steve Knightley on his Winter Yards UK tour,  Joining Will Keating at Hall For Cornwall, then closely followed by a True Foxes headline tour with Take Art - Rural Touring.

In 2025, Amie has also been writing the music and lyrics for a Cornish Remake of The Little Mermaid commissioned by the prestigious Watermill Theatre in Newbury, Berkshire. On stage November 26 - Jan 4th.

After the success of their debut album last year, True Foxes have begun working on their second album, due to be released early 2026.

2026 and beyond is shaping up to be a very exciting new chapter for True Foxes, who are definitely the ones to watch.
